We begin at the historic Spice Bazaar in Eminönü. Here you will see colorful spices, Turkish delight, dried fruits, nuts, and traditional sweets.
You will learn about Ottoman trade history while tasting selected local flavors. This is the perfect introduction to Turkish cuisine.
Just outside the bazaar, along the waterfront, we try one of Istanbul’s most famous street foods: the fish sandwich (balık ekmek).
Fresh grilled fish served in bread with onions and salad—simple, fresh, and iconic. Locals have enjoyed this quick meal for generations.
As we walk, we stop for simit, the traditional sesame bread ring, often called the “Turkish bagel.”
Served with a glass of Turkish tea, this is the everyday snack of Istanbul residents. It is not a tourist experience—it is daily life.
In the lively Taksim Fish Market, we taste midye dolma (stuffed mussels with rice and spices) and midye tava (fried mussels).
This area reflects the vibrant and multicultural food culture of Beyoğlu.
Along Istiklal Street, we try two popular street classics:
İçli Köfte – a crispy bulgur shell filled with seasoned minced meat
Kokoreç – seasoned and grilled lamb intestines, finely chopped and served in bread
Bold flavors, strong character—true street food.
We finish the tour with traditional Turkish coffee. Slowly brewed and served in small cups, it is more than a drink—it is part of social life and conversation.
This is not a luxury restaurant tour.
It is a real street food experience.
